What Sparks projects usually need
Sparks splits into two very different rental patterns. The older core, roughly the neighborhoods between Victorian Avenue and Greenbrae, is mid-century housing on compact lots. Those jobs are kitchen and bath remodels, garage cleanouts, and roof replacements, and they usually land on a 10 yard or 20 yard. Driveways there are often short, so measure before you book.
North and east, through Wingfield, Kiley Ranch and D'Andrea, the housing is newer and the lots are larger. Those projects skew toward yard conversions, backyard builds, deck and patio work, and full-house flooring replacements. Larger driveways mean placement is rarely a problem and a 30 yard fits comfortably.

Permits in Sparks
Sparks is its own incorporated city with its own municipal process, so a City of Reno encroachment permit does not apply here. On private property no permit is needed. Local conditions
The east side of the valley catches wind coming down the Truckee River corridor, so open containers holding insulation, cardboard or roofing felt need light material loaded low or tarped overnight. Winter placement on the sloped streets in the Greenbrae and Sparks hills area can be limited by ice, and we will say so rather than attempt an unsafe drop.

Measuring a Sparks driveway before you book
The older Sparks neighborhoods are where placement goes wrong most often. Homes built through the fifties and sixties on compact lots frequently have driveways under 30 feet, and a fair number have a carport at the end of them. A 20 yard container is 22 feet long and the truck needs another 10 to 12 feet of straight run behind it to roll the box off cleanly.
Walk it with a tape before you book. If you have under about 34 feet of clear straight approach, choose the 10 yard, which needs closer to 24 feet, or plan on a street placement through the City of Sparks. Also check overhead, because mature trees along the older streets and low carport roofs both stop a delivery cold.
Sparks industrial and commercial work
The industrial corridor east of town along the I-80 frontage generates a different kind of rental: tenant improvements, warehouse clearouts, pallet and packaging waste, and equipment removal. Those are volume jobs rather than weight jobs, so a 30 yard on a swap schedule is usually the right setup. Give us your dates when you book and we will plan the hauls around them instead of leaving a full container blocking a dock.
